New version for the future mobile computers, Microsoft’s Surface Neo is due to be released in 2021. It was due to be released in 2020 but due to the Coronavirus, the shipping is delayed for parts, therefore the product release has been delayed.

What is Surface Neo and what is the speciality of it?

A large book like device with dual-screen; that’s simply how the device looks like. Like other devices, it doesn’t have an e-ink display; it has two 9-inch touch screens which get expanded up to a total of 13.1 inches when folded. Surface Neo comes with an innovative keyboard which magnetically folds to the bottom of the device or can sit on top of the screen. Surface Neo also has a touch of Windows known as Windows 10X.

The device will have only a few ports; a single USB C port on the right-hand side, the volume rockers on the left-hand side, and connectivity options include a Windows Hello IR webcam on the top of the screen for facial login and selfies.

Hinge Isn’t Like In Other Devices. Quite Unique.

The hinge of this device is hidden inside a polished metal seam beneath the screen. This way it helps the users to seamlessly move fingers from one screen to the other.

Specialty Of The Keyboard.

It’s a detachable Bluetooth keyboard on the surface. When you attach it to the top part of the bottom screen, you’ll be given an on-screen trackpad so you can use the Surface Neo like a traditional laptop. Of course, the virtual touchpad won’t physically be clickable or provide feedback as the click will just be on a touch screen.

Windows 10X is made just for dual-screen PCs like how iPad OS is designed for Apple tablets.

As we know, there have been issues for Microsoft with past mobile phones regarding apps. Because of this, the developers are working closely to ensure no issues with Surface Neo.

Another important point to note is that Microsoft is looking to unite its hardware with its software (Windows 10X and Surface Neo). This means you can find some special features in Microsoft Surface Neo device which you cannot find in regular Windows 10 laptops.
