During this pandemic period, most people are working from home for everyone’s safety, government rules or due to lockdowns. This is the time we need to master work-life balance the most because some of us might need to work extra hours due to piling up of work of others who got redundant.  

1. Spend Quality Time With Your Family.

Family is the most important part of our life. We do each and everything to make them happy, so focusing only on work all the time while you are at home will only make them unhappy because you have a major role to play at home as a parent, child or partner. If you don’t take this role seriously, it will negatively affect the whole family. For example, they will be unable to have mental peace within them as the paradise they are hoping to return to after all stressful work doesn’t exist. Therefore, make sure to spend quality time with your family in order to maintain peace within.

2. Don’t Forget You are Working From Home.

As mentioned above, family is one of our main priorities, however, you shouldn’t commit to family chores in working hours, because you are being paid even though you are working from home so do your best. Playing video games, chatting on social media, going on trips etc. is not the right way to work from home. If you get caught doing something else while working from home, which is not related to work, your reputation within your workplace will be tarnished. So, work during work hours and after do whatever you want but make sure you obey the social distancing rules imposed by your government during this pandemic season.

3. Don’t Have To Be Perfect All The Time.

Striving for perfection can lead to your doom because with the growing responsibilities each and everyday with work, life and family we should understand that striving for excellence is healthier than perfection. We don’t have the time to be perfect with all the duties and responsibilities that we have. And, remember, no one is perfect.

4.  Manage Your Time.

Prioritize your activities, make a to-do list or follow a strict schedule in order to make the most out of your time. This way, you will be able to complete activities of high importance and will get the opportunity to trim off tasks one by one. Include both, work and life-related tasks in your list to balance both sides. The time you waste cannot be gained back, so, with that in mind use your time efficiently and effectively.

5. Take Breaks in Between.

Make sure to give your body and mind a break by doing activities such as exercising, meditating, listening to music, having fresh air or something that you like. Taking short breaks helps to boost productivity, decrease stress level and refresh. And, there is no harm in taking short breaks from time to time. 

No one can balance their work and life at the first go, it needs good practice and patience. Practice doing one way at a time and when you’ve mastered that move to learn another method. Start small, and when you see positive results, you will be motivated to soak yourself with other methods.
