Valuable Lessons Taught By COVID-19

I’m pretty sure I don’t have to explain what COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is because by now everyone knows what it is and how dangerous it is. Even though most of us know what it is, we don’t know what valuable lessons it taught us. Every dark cloud has a silver lining, Corona’s silver lining is the lessons it taught us.

1. How a Problem Can Affect Globally

Corona is the best example that we can use to illustrate how a single problem can affect everyone in the world. This was started in Wuhan, China and it spread all over China and to other parts of the world. One country’s fear became the whole world’s fear.

2. We Can Make the Earth a Paradise

Due to lockdowns, people have to stay inside their homes for months. In some countries, people are only allowed to go out for limited reasons imposed by the government and in some countries, people are not allowed to go anywhere at all. Due to the pandemic situation, most businesses are closed for months as well. As a result of these changes, the pollution level has decreased allowing earth some time to heal damages caused by humans. Some people have shared ‘before and after COVID-19 photos’ of cities, canals, etc. Those photos show a massive difference in a positive way proving that if we refrain from polluting air, sound, and water this place will be a paradise to live in. It is us who started and it is we who can end it.

3. Pandemics are Worse Than Wars

There are no bomb blasts or gun fires, but so many people are dead and so many are still battling to survive from the virus. Isn’t it scarier than a war? In wars, you can see and hear things to at least run for your life or hide but you can’t see or hear the virus to run or hide, as it is not visible for your naked eyes. Unless you take extreme measures such as social distancing, washing hands, wearing gloves and masks, and obeying government rules, you won’t be able to keep yourself safe. Therefore, to save yourself and your loved ones always follow good practices related to COVID-19.

4. Avoid Panic Buying

Leave supplies for others as well. In a situation like this, it is wise to buy only what you need. Otherwise, you will end up wasting money over goods that are unnecessary and will face financial difficulties. Also, if you think that buying huge amounts of sanitizers, gloves, masks will protect you from the virus, you are wrong because if the spreading of the virus needs to be stopped then others need to wear protective gear as well.

5. Don’t Laugh at Others

Wise people take actions earlier to avoid regrets but others will always make fun out of them. It will take time for the naive to realize and when they do it will be too late. Prevention is always better than cure.

6. COVID-19 Has No Racism

There are so many videos going viral of people being rude and racist to others. The virus is contracted to people regardless of their nationality, age, sex, colour, religion, etc. therefore, there is no need for us to be racist in a time where everyone is feared and stressed. We must act like one if we want to win this battle.

7. Life is Full of Uncertainty

Every single thing in our life is uncertain, therefore, live the moment to your fullest. Be happy and grateful for the things in your life because I am pretty sure most of us don’t appreciate what we have until we lose them.
